In 1977, Bill and Phyllis Pittman purchased the first Pittman property located at 1418 Cornelia Ave. in what was to become historic, Old North Knoxville.

At the time this duplex home, like most in the area, had been shoddily "modernized" to appeal to cost-conscious University of Tennessee students.  Having been raised in the north Knoxville community of Lincoln Park, Bill did not see cheap student housing; rather, he saw the opportunity to restore a circa 1910, Craftsman-style home once prominent in the area.  At about this same time, a wave of revitalization began to overtake the neighborhood.  Besides restoring this property to its original splendor, we have also converted the home's carriage house to a period bungalow.

Since this original purchase, Pittman Properties has been dedicated to restoring the past and building for the future.  Most of our "absolutely spotless" properties have been saved from the wrecking ball of those determined to destroy our historic neighborhoods.  We make every attempt to maintain the original character of our homes while providing ammenities that guarantee comfortable living.  Besides Old North Knoxville, our homes are part of the Fountain City and Lincoln Park communities.
