“The Barrister on Kenyon”

The Barrister is the latest Pittman Properties restoration. This 2 bedroom, one bath Arts & Crafts Bungalow is located in tony Old North Knoxville, one of Knoxville’s most historic neighborhoods. Situated on Kenyon St., this restored bungalow was home to two different attorneys and their families during the last century and thus the name "Barrister". Old North Knoxville is certainly a special place with its mature trees and sidewalks…which may be enjoyed from the comfort of this home’s porch swing. Upon entering this home, one immediately appreciates the living room’s grand fireplace which is flanked on both sides by “cabin” windows and accentuated by three large, original windows on the home’s front as well as the newly refinished, and gleaming, hardwood floors and a newly installed ceiling fan. The home’s original French doors, missing at the time of our acquisition, were located and re-installed; these doors lead from the living room to the formal dining room which includes a wonderful chandelier. Both of the home’s bedrooms also have ceiling fans as well as hardwood floors and double-hung closets. The woodwork in all living spaces has been painstakingly stripped and returned to its original luster. The home’s bath has been completely restored to include art deco mosaic tile, a period claw-foot tub (with shower attachment), wainscoting, pedestal sink, high-efficiency toilet,  brushed nickel hardware and a large towel and toiletry closet. This entire home features 10’ ceilings.

The home’s kitchen includes all new cabinetry, countertops and stainless steel appliances including refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave oven and dishwasher and the stainless steel sink is complete with a garbage disposal. The Barrister is also furnished with a new washer & dryer as well mini-blinds and a newly-installed, high efficiency central heat & air system. The home’s rear yard, a perfect garden spot, is fenced and includes a single-car garage which can be used as storage space and the home’s basement could become your wine cellar or the perfect spot to store camping gear or seasonal decorations.
